The Compare Research On Crafts Between Yue Kiln And Yaozhou Kiln From Late Tang To Northern Song Dynasty

China is the country which invent porcelain.The earliest manifestation of porcelain is celadon.From the Eastern Han to Song Dynasties,celadon became the important part of Chinese ceramics,not only growing in the scale of production,but also burning in north and south kilns.The Yue kiln is the famous celadon kiln in the South of China and the Yaozhou kiln is the famous celadon kiln in the north of China during the Tang and Song Dynasties.Through the historical literature,Yue kiln and Yaozhou kiln archaeological discoveries and analysis of scientific and technological means,Yue kiln and Yaozhou kiln celadon have many differences in the raw materials,kiln,burning technology,tire glaze composition and decoration technology from the late Tang to the Northern Song Dynasty.ln the raw materials and glaze,Yue kiln use chinastone as raw materials,chinastone,limestone and plant ash as glaze;Yaozhou kiln use mud clay as raw materials,limestone and glazestone as glaze.In the use of kiln,Yue kiln use dragon kiln with firewood,Yaozhou kiln use eggshell shape kiln with firewood in late Tang and Five Dynasties,eggshell shape kiln with coal in Northern Song Dynasty,the structure changes;In the burning process,although Yaozhou kiln use M shaped sagger which is familiar with Yue kiln from Five Dynasties,the burning tools apart from sagger and burning mode of two kilns are significantly different;In the decorative process,Yue kiln have no decoration on most celadon during late Tang to Five Dynasties.In the period of Northern Song Dynasty,fine line flower decoration appear.Yaozhou kiln have many decorations,and the most prominent decoration in Northern Song Dynasty is engraving technology.Yue kiln and Yaozhou kiln celadon have independent development system in crafts,two kilns celadon form their own craft characteristics and style through innovation.
