Recent years have witnessed increased contacts in trade, tourism and cultural exchange between Chinese people and people from the rest of the world.Serving as a bridge for communication, interpreters have played a significant role in this process. However, they are confronted with such challenges as linguistic barriers,extra-linguistic barriers and analytical barriers in interpreting process.Researches on solutions to these challenges were mainly theoretical research, however, this report is based on the materials of my interpreting practice, aiming at drawing some lessons from my experiences and providing practical references for the training of interpreters and theoretical research. This practice report explored the obstacles that the author encountered in interpreting practice for 2017 The International Tea Forum and put forward some suggestions under Gile's Interpretation Comprehension Equation(GICE).This report found out that inadequate linguistic knowledge such as accent, vocabulary and grammar, and insufficient' extra-linguistic knowledge such as professional, situational, contextual and cultural knowledge as well as weak analytical capacity are the main obstacles to interpreting for international conferences. In addition, the author also offered some suggestions on improving the quality of interpreting under GICE,which are enlarging vocabulary and strengthening listening comprehension to expand the knowledge of the language;learning about professional and cultural knowledge to enrich extra-linguistic knowledge;employing such analytical methods as cognition, intention, image and style analysis to enhance analytical capacity.
