Translation Of Nominalization In The Legal Text

This is a translation report emphasizing on translation of nominalization in The Appeal of Regal Entertainment Group on Unfair Competition.In translating this legal text,the author has met tremendous nominalizations,which encapsulate and condense plenty of information with a rigid logic relationship and are hard to understand.So the author thinks right translations of these nominalizations can lead a successful translation of the source text.Therefore the study of how to translate nominalization in Chinese legal text is of great significance.In this report,the author uses Nida's functional equivalence theory as translation guidance.Then the author classifies nominalization in English legal texts.And the author discusses the translation methods adopted in the source text under the guidance of equivalent theory,and the methods of literal translation,conversion,free translation are adopted during translation process.Finally,the author makes a summary the experience and lessons learned through translation practice.Finally,this report aims to probe the translation methods of nominalization in English legislative texts,with a view to understanding the nominalization further and conducive to the English legislative text translation.Hope this report may have some theoretical significance and some experience on translation practice.
