With the proposal of “The Belt and Road Initiative”,China and the countries along the “The Belt and Road” have broad prospects for cooperation in trade,culture,education,energy,economy,medical care and many other fields.The prerequisite for successful cooperation in various fields is to understand the laws of various fields in the cooperative countries.Legal translation has become indispensable in the exchanges and cooperation between countries.This translation practice report takes the Kazakhstan Compulsory Social Medical Insurance Law as an example and expounds the concept and characteristics of the legal text.This translation practice report is based on Eugene Nida's functional equivalence translation theory.It analyzes the characteristics of selected legal texts from the lexical and sentence level,and illustrates typical examples in the process of translation.Through the analysis of cases,this report summarizes the translation methods and techniques of legal texts,finds out the problems and shortcomings in the process of translation of legal texts,and provides some experience for Russian learners with certain experience in the translation of legal texts.
