The children's group is the main audience of children's animation from the selection of materials,production to the viewing of choice of "dominance" are in the hands of adults,which set behind the role of the adult world is implicit in the mapping of the mainstream gender concept,reflecting the "adult The collective request of the "standard".A number of previous studies have shown that there are gender differences in the image-shaping and reproduction of gender roles in mass media products.This serves as a precondition for the study of this article.It uses content analysis to confirm and analyze children's animated characters.Verification,through frequency analysis,found that the number of male animation characters set in the children's animated characters was slightly higher than the number of female animation character sets.The concrete construction of gendered differences is explained in detail from three dimensions:The first is the external image.The gendered differences in appearance settings are prominently reflected in the adult role.The female role pays more attention to the artificial features,the female role is beautiful and soft.The male character uses the natural characteristics as the distinguishing feature and the body shape is powerful.In terms of hairstyles and outfits,there are female characters that are richer than male characters.The second is behavioral performance.Observing the daily behavior of adult characters found that men are often non-domestic in nature and acquire knowledge information,while women are in the nature of housework.Observations of daily coping behaviors of adult characters revealed that men are generally active and practical solvers,while women are passively waiting for helpers,and this trend extends from within the family to the outside world.Children's characters have a choice of program viewing and toys when they are alone.Men show a social ethos that is fully consistent with masculinity and stricter adherence to gender stereotypes.Most of the women met the social expectations of femininity and did not strictly abide by gender stereotypes.Children's characters tend to play with peers with similar hobbies and behavioral preferences,but this is not absolute.In terms of game orientation,there is a clear gender preference.The third is occupation and expectation.Male adults have more diverse occupational roles than female adults.At the same time,the career of male adult characters is more prominent in masculinity,and earnest work is its social expectation;while the role of femaleadult characters highlights the femininity of women,emphasizing the importance of a beautiful appearance.There are no professional differences in child roles.However,the social environment and family education emphasize the development of manhood and encouragement.The expectation of women and children's roles is often elegant women,hoping to meet the established social role standard expectations framework.Male children have stronger self-awareness of their gender expectations than female children.In the two animations in the sample,in addition to the differences in gender construction of the above roles,this article also finds that there is a breakthrough in modernity,more portrayal of female characters,and a humanized display of the capabilities of male characters.Some attention is paid to some of the more obvious phenomena of gender stereotypic prejudice.Abandoning the traditional idea of solidification to discuss its value judgments,this paper finds that children's animation as a mass media product has the common disadvantages of expressing a gender image,strengthening the established gender role standards,prematurely forming a concrete world outlook on children,and paying attention to children.A special audience can also find the special value of children's animation,help children acquire social role standards and improve the level of gender concept in the whole society.This study hopes to inspire the public to use children's animation as the mass media,to make correct gender education for children,to cultivate children's dual personality,and to cultivate the quality of talent for the entire society.
