A Report On The Translation Of Handbook Of Research On Cloud-based STEM Education For Improved Learning Outcomes (Chapter 2)

This report is based on the translation of the second chapter of Handbook of Research on Cloud-based STEM Education for Improved Learning Outcomes,“Cloud Computing as a Catalyst for Change in STEM Education”,edited by John P.Sahlin and Kim Lobera.The source text gives an overview on STEM education,and elaborates several the challenges that STEM education has faced in adopting cloud computing.The authors offer their recommendations to the challenges at the end.This report consists of five chapters.Chapter One is an introduction to the background,significance and structure of the report.Chapter Two is a detailed introduction to the SL text,including the author,its content and linguistic features.According to Reiss' s text typology theory,the ST is an informative text.Chapter Three gives an account of the translation theory used by the translator to guide her translation practice.Chapter Four is about the difficulties the translator encountered in the process of translating and corresponding solutions.The last chapter summarizes what the translator has learnt through this project and problems to be solved.
