A rigorous project management model can help raise a software product development process from an initial, immature stage that is unstable and unrepeatable to an optimizing maturity level characterized by continuous improvement and innovation.Capability Maturity Model(CMM)is a process improvement approach which consists of a collection of practices that have been proven by experience to be effective.Goals and actions related to this repeatable Capability Maturity Model have been outlined which provides good guidelines for initiating software process improvement, particularly in the project management area;however, the author will propose a new technical term—Translation Capability Maturity Model(TCMM).This model provides good guidelines for initiating translation process particularly in the project management area. This process can ensure that all participants complete translation tasks on time, but also improve the ability of organizations to meet goals for cost, functionality and translation quality. This report is an empirical study based on translation project Pacific Crucible, with the focus on developing a translation management process, emphasizing project planning, quality management, team work, and process control.Findings presented in this report are correlated with the TCMM guidelines as well as organizational factors, which enable the successful deployment of various aspects in order to improve the translation project management. |
