With the speeding of economic globalization and the further development of China's reform and opening-up,international exchange activities are on a vigorous increase and are becoming more and more diversified.Communication activities are not only in the fields of diplomacy, economy and commerce, but also between academic visits and intercollegiate exchanges. As a student of MTI,the author completed the international joint design project between Chengdu University of Technology(CDUT)and Shenkar College of Engineering and Design. The International joint Project is jointly organized by the International Council of Design,Sichuan Economic and Information Commission,Chengdu University of Technology and Shenkar College of Engineering and Design of Israel.International Council of Design,an international non-partisan and non-governmental organization of design based on cultural and social differences around the world, absorbs the largest membership in the world and focuses on design education, design careers and design promotion. This interpreting practice report is thus based on a series of maker movements in the international joint project, including brainstorming, thematic discussion, product research, field survey, finial design presentation, etc. This paper is mainly inspired on the interpretative theory of Danika Seleskovitch, and the author analyzes the difficulties and challenges encountered in the interpreting process from three aspects,namely,listening,note-taking and memory. The author first points out the problems and difficulties with practical examples and then puts forward the corresponding interpretation skills on the basis of analysis,so as to better complete the interpreting practice.Through the specific discussion and analysis, the author sums up the coping skills including simplification and omission, extra linguistic knowledge, content memory method, analytic memory method, reasonable extension of thinking time, principles of note-taking,logical connections of points of information etc.to deal with such difficulties and challenges as language redundancy, ambiguity expressions, interpretation without note-taking,terminologies,note-taking of numbers. With those summarized coping skills, the author hopes they will behelpful for the interpreters and provide references for the interpreter's future interpreting projects.
