With the increase in interaction between Kenya and China,the Chinese language has become a very popular language in Kenya.More and more people have began to learn Chinese in Kenya.Inspired by the love of music by Kenyans,this paper tackles the application of music in teaching Chinese language in Kenya.It discusses in depth the application of music in the teaching of Chinese language in Kenya,from the characteristics of music and Chinese learners,the teaching of phonetics,vocabulary,grammar and culture of the Chinese language in Kenya.This paper takes the Chinese teaching in Kenya as the objective,adopts the methods of literature review and analysis,and combines it with the achievements of music teaching and the future development trend of teaching practice design method.At the same time,on the basis of analyzing the theories of predecessors,the relevant monograph and valuable research papers of this subject have been studied,and lessons have been drawn from its valuable contents.This paper summarizes,collates and generalizes the contents of the article by consulting relevant documents.This paper reviews and summarizes the existing literature at home and abroad by using books,Internet and other resources.In order to lay a theoretical foundation for teaching practice,valuable theories and personal views have been put forward.The paper lays the foundation for establishing a Chinese teaching method based on music.This study finds that the characteristics of the learners,the teaching of phonetics,the teaching of vocabulary and grammar,and the teaching of culture affect the results of learning in four different degrees.Therefore,the suggestions for the application of music in the teaching are proposed.First,it analyzes the general situation of Chinese teaching in Kenya,introduces the related theories of music and language,and explains the theoretical basis of applying music to the teaching of language.Secondly,it puts forward the integration of music into the teaching plan.And through the analysis of the role of music on phonetics,vocabulary and grammar of the proposed optional music teaching requirements,such as:the most popular type,choosing clear pronunciation of pop songs and catchy songs etc.according to the actual demand.At the same time,it is recommended to teach students in accordance with their aptitude and choose different music according to the learners of different ages.Third,the paper analyzes the relationship between culture and teaching,and points out that Chinese learning is not only about learning language,but also learning and understanding its cultural background,such as religion,diet,art and customs-It also illustrates how to apply music in cultural teaching.
