Secondary vocational education is an indispensable part of the modern education system,and its education and training objectives are positioned as front-line skilled talents.With the gradual development of the market economy and the accelerating process of economic globalization,foreign capital,joint venture production and processing enterprises and service investors choose to develop in the inland cities.When our secondary vocational graduates are employed,students with relatively good English proficiency obviously have the priority when they enter some foreign enterprises or large state-owned enterprises.Therefore,it is necessary to improve the quality of English teaching,so that students can have a better career prospects.However,looking at the current status of English Teaching in secondary vocational schools,teachers often sing monologues in class,and after class,students do not have the habit of previewing and reviewing.Students do not want to learn,teachers can not find a sense of accomplishment,teaching has not formed a virtuous circle.Therefore,it is an inevitable trend to explore effective strategies for English teaching reform in secondary vocational schools.In the first chapter,by using the method of literature search,it clears up and concludes the domestic and foreign research on English teaching,secondary vocational teaching,secondary vocational English teaching content and secondary vocational English teaching method.Research on English teaching by domestic and foreign scholars is quite comprehensive,including English teaching policy,teaching content,teaching method,teaching evaluation and so on;As for the secondary vocational teaching,scholars at home and abroad all agree that education has the particularity of its career guidance,which should be distinguished from the ordinary middle school or the university's education.In terms of secondary vocational English teaching contents and teaching methods,compared with domestic study of secondary vocational English teaching,the abroad study of secondary vocational English teaching is relatively more leading and comprehensive.Reference can conclude from the following four aspects: first,in the process of teaching evaluation,we can draw lessons from process assessment and summative assessment.The evaluation approach is not entirely dependent on the knowledge test,but pay attention to the change in the process in learning.Second,foreign secondary vocational education vigorously build English learning atmosphere,and pay attention to train students' English practical ability.Third,foreign study emphasis on strengthening the cooperation between colleges and enterprises.The second chapter analyzes the related theory to the teaching of secondary vocational English,including the application characteristic of secondary vocational English teaching,the comparison between the ordinary high school English teaching and secondary vocational English,secondary vocational English teaching design principles and the evaluation of the effect in secondary vocational English teaching.It is a theoretical foundation for the reform and research of English teaching.The third chapter investigates the basic situation of English teaching in three secondary vocational schools in Ji'an city.These three secondary vocational schools are Ji'an normal school,Jinggangshan applied science and technology school,and Ji 'an senior technical school.Based on the questionnaires of 300 different majors students at three schools,15 English teachers' personal interview,and the actual observation which I have engaged in the secondary vocational English,the paper analyzes and get data from six aspects:the teaching ability of English teachers,the usage condition of textbooks,the arrangement of courses,the use of teaching methods,the evaluation mechanism of teachers and students,and the status of students' English learning.The fourth chapter objectively points out and analyzes some problems that exist,which is based on the concludes data about secondary vocational English teaching from six aspects,such as teachers' quality and structure adjustment;Selection and use of teaching materials;The updating of teaching methods and teaching methods;The motivation of students to study independently and the diversity and pertinence of teaching evaluation.The fifth chapter focuses on the above problems and puts forward the countermeasures to solve the problem from six aspects.First of all,on the macro level,we should strengthen the support of nation,society and schools in basic culture courses.Secondly,it is necessary to accurately grasp the similarities and differences between Chinese and English teaching.Thirdly,we should build a team of bilingual teachers who keep abreast with the times.Fourthly,to establish a new model of English teaching in secondary vocational school;Fifthly,explore ways and means of guiding students to learn autonomously;Finally,vocational schools should strengthen the necessary hardware and software construction.
