Survey Report On Chinese Teaching And Learning Situation Of EP?IEP Class In Private Mission School

In recent years,the Chinese language has been warming in the world.Due to the support from the government' s policy,the Chinese education showing the booming momentum in Thailand.There are numerous private schools in Thailand,and the author working at Darasamuth Phuket School where is a private school invested by the Catholic Church.The school pays great attention to English teaching,sets up the EP(English Programme)and the IEP(International English Programme)class which uses English as the teaching language,it has formed the environment of Thai-English bilingual for Chinese teaching.So Chinese as the second language is very special and representative in this school.This thesis consists of six chapters.The first chapter is the introduction,which shows the purpose and significance of the research,defines the research methods,and summarizes the results of empirical research,including the different schools in different regions,especially the private schools.The second chapter base on the educational idea of Thailand and the policy of Chinese language teaching,and reviews the history and present situation of Chinese teaching in Thailand.It is revealed that the Chinese language education is under the relaxed and favorable environment,the policy of Thailand is support for the Chinese teaching.and this chapter shows the development of Chinese teaching in Phuket is introduced in detail,and the private schools under the jurisdiction of the Office of Private Education Commission are mainly described.The third chapter introduces the basic situation of Darasamuth Phuket School,mainly analysis of the current situation and advantages of Chinese teaching.From kindergarten to junior high school,they have the Chinese class every week.The number of Chinese teachers meets the teaching needs.Most of the students have purchased unified Chinese teaching materials.The students' Chinese level is not high but has a basic foundation.The fourth chapter through to questionnaires and interviews from the EP and IEP class,and there are detailed descriptions and analyses of the current situation of Chinese teaching of EP and IEP,including the basic information of students,their attitude about Chinese learning and cognitive difficulty of Chinese language,Chinese learning motivation,their performance in Chinese class,as well as the understanding of the Chinese community and the degree of contact the Chinese community and so on.The fifth chapter,according to the investigation and analysis,draws the outstanding problems of Chinese teaching in EP and IEP classes.It summarizes the existing problems from the five aspects,including schools,teachers,students,textbooks and parents.In the sixth chapter,mainly talk about the problems that restricting the development of Chinese teaching in private schools,and puts forward some countermeasures for these difficulties.Includes four parts: the Ministry of education in Thailand and the Thailand board of education,private schools,teachers and students,in order to provide reference for Chinese teaching in other schools.Finally,the full text is summarized,and the shortcomings of the research are pointed out.Through investigation,data analysis and teaching practice,this paper find out the advantages and disadvantages of EP and IEP to carry out Chinese teaching,and list advice about how to carry out Chinese teaching more effectively in bilingual environment of English-Thai,and the measures for students who in non native language to adopt the proposed learning strategies in the target language environment,in order to promote the Chinese teaching in our school,and provide reference for other school that has the similar background and conditions.In addition,hope this thesis will provide relevant information and data sources of Chinese teaching for other people who want to understand or study of private schools in Thailand.
