The Translation Methods Of English Attributive Causes In Encyclopedia Of Political Thought

The source text of the translation practice project is Encyclopedia of Political Thoughts,which mainly introduces the history and politics of the world.The translation of a good many attributive clauses in the book has launched a great challenge to the author.Therefore,the report intends to explore the E-C translation methods of attributive clauses.Drawing on the principles and strategies of translating attributive clauses put forward by Chinese scholars Zhang Peji,Sun Zhili and Ye Zinan and based on the author's own translation practice,the report concludes main translation methods of attributive clauses,which were used by author in the project.Through researching the translation methods of attributive clauses and applying these methods,the author realizes that while translating attributive clauses,the translator needs to understand the meaning of the original text,master the structure of sentences and find the antecedents attributive clauses modify;then the translator should flexibly adopt appropriate translation methods to provide a loyal and coherent translation.
