A Report On The Translation Of Foreign Sales Contract

Since China joined WTO formally,our country's foreign trade and English contracts in foreign trade activities have become increasingly frequent.At the same time,there have also appeared many foreign economic disputes which are largely caused by the problems of the contract.Because the rights and obligations in the contracts is sometimes unclear and makes the meaning confusing.So it is of great importance to translate the trade contracts accurately.As a kind of legal documents,the business contract should be formal and language should have strict requirements for structure and form.So learning the particularity of contract language is crucial to accurate translation of the contract.Starting from the lexical and syntactic features,this paper classifies and analyzes the contract terms,long and difficult sentences through examples appearing in the task article,aiming at a deep and systematic understanding of the characteristics and classification as well as the corresponding translation techniques so as to reach a precise translation.Firstly,this thesis gives the text background and task significance of the translation task.Then in the next part,the author arranges the translation process in a simple way.And then it makes an analysis of the characteristics of the original materials and translation difficulties in lexical and syntactic level.The next part is case analysis where the author summarizes the corresponding translation strategies in regard to the difficulties in translation process.Finally,the author draws a lesson reviewing the whole translation process.
