The Study Of The Goguryeo's Pottery Inscription In JiAn

The pottery inscription is a kind of character which is engraved and stamped in potteries and building materials.It includs tile inscription(characters in eaves tiles,imbrexes and plate tiles),brick inscription and ordinary characters in potteries.This article mainly analysis the Goguryeo pottery inscriptions which were unearthed in Ji'an Jilin China.So as to discuss some Goguryeo's social questions,such as chronological record of events,usage of Chinese characters,during palaces and tombs,auspicious words,title of nobility and officials,communication with central plains,regulatory regimes of making tiles,which the crafts men were thinking when the were building and so on.The first part of this article mainly introduce chrononlogical record of events in Gaoguiyeo's pottery inscriptions.Most of them was engraved in eaves tiles,which would made we know that Gaoguryeo designed years by Heavenly Stems and Earthly Branches and reign title in Eastern Jin Dynasty(like Taining).During the reign of HaoTaiwang,Gaoguryeo had used their own's reign title of their king,which named YongLe.The part twotroduce the events in Gaoguiyeo'spottery inscriptions.The events mainly includ making tiles,though eaves tiles unearthed in MaXian tomb's district in No.3319 tomb,we know there were things like offering sacrifices to gods or ancestors,making tiles and building tombs.Main content in the third part is auspicious words.In tombs,the auspicious words is in process mastoideus of eaves tiles such as “Ji”,“Tai”and so on.Three kinds of brick prisictions unearthed in Qianqiu Tomb and Taiwang Tomb,express a hope of a solid tomb.Part four introduce the title of nobility and officals,XiaoXiong likes a title of nobility in Gaoguryeo,Zhonglang is a Center China offical's name.Fifth four:Place.It mainly has three tiles which engraved two names of place,one is Lelang,the other is a hill up,last is ChangAn.Sixth chaper talks about the people,mainly refer to craftmen.I conjecture those craftmen was made up by Han people,Gaoguoyeo people and other monitiny people.Those people including government officials,technicians and ordinary craftsmen,Labor service through building the palace and tomb,superviced by a system which named fielding work name.The seventh part mainly introduces pottery inscription,which indicates the place where bricks and tiles are used,and is divided into two categories: text and symbol.Its function is to mark the specific location of the tiles in the bombs.The eighth part mainly introduces the counting pottery inscriptions in the Qianqiu and Taiwang tomb.Nith part is the other pottery inscription,In Wandu Mountain City,the words mostly expressed by drawing,such as hunders of lines of bird's heads,flowers and leaves,maybe it has some special meanings.The patterns and characters carved at will were carved by craftsmen when they were being built,reflecting the most simple and unadorned artistic beauty of painting in Koguryo area at that time.The " XiaoXiao..." text tiles unearthed from the tomb of Qianqiu can still reflect a lot of information,even though they are carved by masons.Finally,we introduce the unidentifiable taowen in the thesis.Conclusion is a comprehensive summary of this paper.
