With the development of Internet technology,“digital marketing” is one of the most remarkable topics of the 21 th century.Digital marketing conforms to the trend of our times and starts the battle for markets and resources.At the same time,marketing books are very popular with business people.There are plenty of books about digital marketing in western countries.However,in China,most marketing books are translated from the English version.This report is mainly based on the translation of the seventh chapter of Understanding Digital Marketing.In the process of translation,the author takes communicative and semantic translation theory of Peter Newmark as guidance and applies translation method such as sequential method,inversion and division.Except for introduction and conclusion,this report consists of three chapters,comprising task description,translating process and case analysis.The first chapter is task description,including reasons for subject selection and an analysis on the original text.The second chapter is translating process,which includes preparations,theories employed,translating and proofreading.The third chapter is case analysis.The author uses translation methods to solve the problems of lexical and syntactical level.Firstly,the author translates vocabulary by translation skills including transplanting,expansion,and paraphrase.Secondly,the author translates long sentences by translation method such as sequential method,inversion and division.
