Mental health has gradually aroused Chinese people's awareness on account of social progress and improvement of their life. The increasing demands for psychological knowledge bring opportunities for the translation of numbers of foreign psychological theories and books. The translation of such material has great significance for the development of psychology in China.Psychological texts,as a genre of informative text according to the classification of text typology, are characterized by the use of accurate and objective technical terms and logical long sentences, which is demanding for the translator to create an accurate and smooth translation. This report is based on the translation of Chapter three of Emotion,Cognition and Social Interaction under the guidance of the skopos theory. The report discusses specific translation strategies such as addition, omission, conversion at the lexical level, and division, inversion, and condensation at the syntactic level. The translation practice illustrates that such strategies are very useful and necessary for the translation of the informative text.
