This “ The Belt and Road ” 2017 Seminar on Tourism Administration for ASEAN countries was held under the guidance of “ The Belt and Road ”initiative.It was sponsored by Ministry of Commerce of China,and organized by International Center for Economic and Technical Exchanges of Yunnan Provincial Department of Commerce.This seminar invited senior officials who are in charge of tourism from ASEAN countries.The author was invited by the organizer to provide interpreting services for this seminar from April to June,2017.The interpreting helped to break language barriers to high officials from ASEAN countries and to know Chinese tourism industry well and seek for future cooperation and development.This report is composed of two parts.The first part is the transcript.The second part is divided into six sections.The first section introduces the interpreting task,including the introduction to ASEAN countries,background and significance of the task.The second part describes the preparation and implementation of the interpreting task.The third section is the introduction of interpretation theory and it introduces the interpretive theory and triangular theory.The fourth section gives examples to demonstrate the techniques and strategies used in the interpreting process.The fifth section analyzes the accent in English speaking of ASEAN countries,and summarizes some common accent characteristics of Southeast Asia countries and provide solutions to accent difficulty.The six section is summary and reflections.It is expected that this report will provide guidance and reference to the author as well as interpreters who are doing interpreting in this field.
