Pai Hsien-yung as the advocate and practitioner of Taiwan modernist literature,using his own creation experience influences and promotes the Taiwan novels from classical to modern socialist transformation,for Taiwan's novel opens up a flow of modernistic creation,he became the most representative of Taiwan modern novel writer.Pai Hsien-yung's novels,however,is unique in the Taiwan modernist novels,he used in active learning and western artistic techniques and skills at the same time not forget their own savings profound Chinese traditional literary accomplishment,grasps the western techniques and traditional culture creation concept,formed its own "be in harmony of Chinese and western techniques" in a unique style.Pai Hsien-yung's novel is a narrative technique that makes it a "excellence of contemporary Chinese short story writers".The novel is a combination of time art and space art,and time and space constitute two basic forms of narrative art.Pai Hsien-yung is a writer who has strong consciousness of time and space,also has the experience of time and space with high sensitivity,especially in the understanding of space art and grasp a striking ability,thus formed the unique space in its novel creation narrative.Specifically,Pai Hsien-yung on "space" as a self-conscious pursuit of the writer,works imprint on the distinct spatial characteristics,whether in the text contents of geographic and cultural space and the use of space narrative techniques and strategies in form,he showed great skill and talent.This space narrative art of Pai Hsien-yung's novel,make his works have the characteristics of aesthetic space character at the same time,also give the researchers provides a new research direction,especially under the background of "spatial turn" in the academic,spatial narrative theory and space gradually mature and systematically,it is for us to study the space narrative of Pai Hsien-yung's novel provides a solid theoretical foundation,as well as the novel narrative techniques to interpret strategy in the creation of space.This paper tries to analyze the novels of Pa i Hsien-yung from the perspective of spatial narration,which is divided into three parts: introduction,subject and conclusion.Except the introduction and conclusion,the body of research based on a close reading of the text,dominated by spatial narrative theory,combined with cultural geography and Michel Foucault's discourse of relationships between space and power and other related theory,of Pai Hsien-yung's novels will be discussed from three sections:The first chapter mainly studies the space configuration of Pai Hsien-yung's novels.Based on text content level of space has carried on the classification,it can be divided into a geographical space to three types of space,time,space and sexual and according to the specific representation of all kinds of space combined with corresponding emotional color and characteristics.The second chapter is the discussion of the space narrative strategy of Pai Hsien-yung's novels.Focus from narrative Angle of view of spatial mechanism,spatial scene rendering and narrative structure of space and space description techniques use four aspects to analyze the Pai Hsien-yung narrative narrative art space in the process of the performance function.The third chapter discusses the significance of the space narrative o f Pai Hsien-yung's novels.This paper explores the significance and value of this narrative mode from the perspective of the innovation of text narrative and the development of aesthetic implication.
