With the steady development of the Belt and Road Initiative,international cooperation and dialogues between China and the countries along the route have become more frequent than ever before in fields including industry,agriculture,education and culture.Under this background,international cooperation and foreign-aid projects,training seminars and technical exhibitions in different fields have increased rapidly in the past few years,leading to a large number of technical professionals who are non-native English speakers coming to China for technical exchanges or specialized training.In addition to diplomatic influence and cultural communication,interpreters should also fully consider the targeted audience's comprehension ability and communication effect in professional fields.This paper is about to analyze the author's interpreting practice during the Seminar on Agricultural Technology Innovation and Management for the Belt and Road Countries,organized by the Foreign Economic Cooperation Center of Ministry of Agriculture.Under the background of the Belt and Road Initiative,the dissemination of agricultural technology is taken as an example to discuss the approaches of choosing appropriate strategies in different situations for dealing with the main problems occurring,including improper understanding of the source language semantics,misinterpreting and main information missing.Through theoretical analysis and case study,this paper aims to analyze how interpreters can effectively deliver the real intention of the speaker in faced with target audience with different levels of comprehensive ability.
