| This consecutive interpreting report describes the task conducted by the interpreter for the 2018 International Training Workshop on Science and Technology for South and Southeast Asian Countries.By drawing on textual transplants of the Eco-translation theory,it analyzes and discusses the typical interpreting instances selected from the interpreting task,and also puts forward some enhancement suggestions.While describing the interpreting task,” the report mainly focuses on the work of the “Pre-interpretation”,“While-interpretation,” and “Post-interpretation assessments.”In the case analysis,drawing on the textual transplants of Eco-translation theory,the successful interpreting examples are analyzed and discussed from the aspects of the transplant of linguistic ecology and communicative ecology,and the unsuccessful one is analyzed and discussed from the aspect of cultural ecology.By the self-reflection and the case study,the interpreter finds that full pre-interpretation,such as collecting relevant background information,making terminology table,and exploring effective ways of understanding Lao English,is very helpful in completing the interpreting task successfully.Besides,as for the sight interpretation of the unprepared PPT,the interpreter interprets the main idea of the Chinese text.Finally,by drawing on the textual transplants of the Eco-translation theory,the interpreter further reflects on his interpreting practice in the hope that he can provide some useful implications for those who conduct similar interpreting tasks in the future. |
