Objective:(1)To evaluate the reliability and validity of the Chinese version of TEIQue-CF of 8-12 years old students in China.(2)To examine the relationship among parental psychological control,children's behaviour problems and trait emotional intelligence while also testing the mediator role of trait EI in the relationship between parental psychological control and children's behaviour problems.Method:(1)2037 primary students(Boys=1035,Girls=1002,N=2037,),aged from 8-12 years old(Mean age=10.01),from Beijing,Shanghai,Xi'an,Jingzhou and Shenzhen had completed the Chinese version of TEIQue-CF.Data were analyzed by SPSS23.0 and AMOS21.0.(2)658 primary students(Boys=328,Girls=330,N=658),aged from 8-12 years old(Mean age=9.85),from Shenzhen,were measured by TEIQue-CF,SDQ,CPPCS and CMPCS.Data were analyzed by SPSS23.0 and AMOS21.0.Result:(1)TEIQue-CF is a unifactorial questionnaire which has nine facets(adaptability,emotion expression,emotion perception,self motivation,self esteem,low impulsivity,peer relations,emotion regulation and affective disposition).It has a good reliability and validity in China(inter consistency(mean Cronbach[alpha]:0.70),split-half(mean:0.904)and re-test stability after 3 months(mean: r=0.819))(2)From a gender perspective: Boys have significantly higher parental psychological control than girls.The behavior problems of boys is significantly higher than that of girls.Trait emotional intelligence of girls is significantly higher than that of boys.(3)From the grade aspect,there was no significant difference in parental psychological control,children's behavioral problems and trait emotional intelligence.(4)Judging from whether they were singletons,parents had significantly more verbal control over non-singletons than singletons.There was no significant difference in behavioral problems when children are singletons.Singletons had significantly higher trait EI than non-singletons.(5)Judging from their parents' marital status,parents had significantly higher psychological control over divorced children than non-divorced children.Children with divorced parents had significantly higher behavioral problems than their parents with no divorced children.There was no significant difference in the marital status of parents for children's trait EI.(6)From the perspective of parents' education,mothers with high school education and below had significantly higher psychological control overchildren than mothers with college education or undergraduate and post-graduate qualifications or above.The higher level of parental education,the higher level of children's trait EI.The higher the parents' education,the fewer children's behavior problems.(7)Children's perception of parental psychological control negatively predicted trait EI,but positively predicted Children's internalising problems.Trait EI negatively predicted Children's behaviour problems.Conclusion:(1)The Chinese version of TEIQue-CF has a good reliability and validity.It can be used in China.(2)Children's perception of parental psychological control positively influenced Children's internalising problems.(3)Children's perception of parental psychological control negatively influenced trait EI.(4)Trait EI was a full mediator between parental psychological control and children's externalising problems and a partial mediator between parental psychological control and children's internalising problems.
