A Practice Report On The Interpreting For The 2017 Summit Forum Of Industry Cloud And Big Data

This practice report is the summary and reflection of the simultaneous interpreting work of the “2017 Summit Forum of Industry Cloud and Big Data”.Guided by the Theory of Sense and the principle of Equivalence of Communicative Meaning,the thesis analyzes the use of translation methods in this interpreting work,summarizes the deficiencies,puts forward corresponding solutions and illustrates the experience and the lessons learned.This report is composed of five chapters.The first chapter is the Task Description,which gives a brief introduction of this interpreting work.The second chapter is the Process Description,which shows the whole procedures of this interpreting work,including the preparation,the interpreting and the summary.The third chapter is the Preparations Before Interpreting,which describes the details of preparation work,including the study of background knowledge and collection of terminologies.The fourth chapter is the Case Analyses,which shows both the successful cases of applying the Theory of Sense,Equivalence of Communicative Meaning and translation methods like omission,addition and combination and the deficiencies of this interpreting task.The last chapter is the Practice Summary,which summarizes the interpreting task,puts forward solutions to the existing problems and states the interpreter's thoughts about the development of translation work.The interpreting practice enhances the interpreter's understanding of interpreting work,improves the interpreter's ability of applying translation theory and methods to work and arouses the interpreter's further thinking about the development of translation work.
