The psychological development of boarding school students in rural areas is currently a hot issue for educators.Pupils' self-care ability is relatively low.Due to boarding, life problems cannot be solved well, communication with parents is relatively small, and social support from families and parents is lacking. These factors easily lead to children's loneliness, and loneliness affects children's mind and body.Development has a significant impact. This article takes 256 residential students from two rural boarding primary schools in two townships in Ningcheng County of Chifeng City as research subjects and uses social support and loneliness scales to conduct surveys on their gender, grade, age, and whether they are only children. The analysis of variables was conducted in order to gain insights into the status quo of psychological loneliness and social support of primary boarding students and the relationship between them, and to provide theoretical and practical support for mental health education for boarding pupils. The study yielded the following results:First, the overall loneliness rating of boarding students in rural areas is higher. There is no significant difference in the sense of loneliness between boarding pupils and rural students in rural areas. There is a significant difference in grade, age, and whether they are only children.Second, social support for boarding primary school students in rural areas is relatively weak.In the four dimensions of peer support,teacher-student relationship, academic performance and campus environment,teacher-student relationship scores are the lowest. There are significant gender differences in academic performance and peer support. There are extremely significant differences in the four dimensions between students who are only children, different ages, and different grades.Third, there is a significantcorrelation between loneliness and social support in rural boarding students. The strength of social support for boarding and schoolchildren in rural areas affects the level of their psychological loneliness. This shows that there is a psychological loneliness problem in rural boarding and primary school students;there is relatively little social support for rural boarding and primary school students, especially family support, friend support, and support from various schools. This is a result of the psychological loneliness of rural boarding students. An important reason for this is that the problem of psychological loneliness in rural boarding and primary school children needs assistance through school education and management.
