Ting Shi is a literary piece,written by Yue Ke in Song Dynasty.The book focuses on recording the knowledge from the court and the civil society.It is the precious material of social in the study of Song Dynasty,and also is more valuble in the study of Chinese language.From the synchronic perspective,It should be regarded as a significant work for understanding modern Chinese with DongJing MengHua Lu,Bei Meng Suo Yan,Ji Lei Bian.That is appropriate in history of Chinese language,it is the bridge and bond between ancient Chinese and modern Chinese.We can see from it the inheritance of ancient Chinese and its influence on modern Chinese.However,it has been neglected for a long time.Hence,This thesis seeks to open up a new field for the lexical research of Ting Shi.Besides the introduction and conlusion,the thesists of three chapters:Introduction which introdues the genearl situation of Ting Shi as well as the relevant study of Ting Shi in academic world.Meanwhile,finds the value and significance which in lexical studies on Ting Shi.Chapter 1 introduces the basic facts of substantive in Ting Shi and explains some subststantives which contained a rich cultural in Song Dynasty.Chapter 2 researches the part of colloquial words,especially the new words that appeared in the Song Dynasty,and finds out the characteristics of them.Chaper 3 selects "hand movement" kind vocabulary as the object of study,to analysis the characteristics of changes in the semantic field of "hand movement".The conclusion part summarizes the research on the first,second and third chapters of this thesis.
