This practice report is based on "Business Negotiation",an online video open class that discusses business negotiation skills in English. The author interpreted some excerpts of this course, focusing on "what is business negotiation","how to make an Opening Statement","Analysis of Opening Statements" and "Negotiation Outcomes".The report of this simulated interpretation is divided into four chapters, including task description,pre-interpreting preparation, interpretation process,post-translation reflection and case analysis. Before the task, the author made a comprehensive research of the language style of business English, and acquired some background information of business negotiation, terms and expressions frequently used in business negotiation, and chose an appropriate interpretation site. When the preparatory work was done, the author carried out the interpretation practice. After the task was completed, the author recalled the whole interpretation process, and realized her shortcomings in many aspects, such as weak short time memory and inappropriate note taking. There were still some shortcomings in her note taking. So she should exercise her memorizing ability and note taking skills. Some problems existed in the interpretation, such as missing details, making errors, failing to find equivalent expressions, etc. The language is not very natural and smooth with some sentences taking English syntactic features. The author discusses all these problems, and explores the reasons in order to avoid similar errors in future interpretation.Despite these weaknesses, the author has made certain achievements in the interpreting progress. She had skillfully applied some interpreting strategies, such as "semantic division of the source text","necessary repetition" and "conversion of word class" and "use of passive voice".In addition, her adequate preparations have laid a solid foundation for the completion of this interpretation project..
