English-Chinese Tranalation Report Of The Main Contract Of The Fundation Gymnasiunm Project

With the continuous economic globalization,the relations among countries all over the world are getting increasingly close.Through capital flows,technological exchanges and service providing,all countries have formed a global organic economy that is interdependent and mutually supportive.Since the reform and opening up,China has continuously developed its capabilities in various fields like economic strength and scientific and technological innovation,so that it has gradually played an important role in the global economy.As an important part of economic exchange,contract is of vital importance,which is self-evident.The translation of engineering contract not only tests the translator's language expressing,but also their organizing ability.However,the terms and expressions of these contracts set higher requirements for translators.Therefore,I choose this project as the analytical text to be studied.This article is a report on the translation practice of Foundation Main Works Contract.The report consists of five parts: The first chapter is Introduction which introduces the related background of the translation project.The second chapter is the description of the translation project,its background,significance and objectives.The third chapter is about the translation process.There are three parts in this chapter,preparation of translation,translation implementation and feedback.It mainly presents the translation-related preparation,some of the efforts in the process of translation as well as the feedback.The fourth chapter is the main part of the report,which is the most important one.It starts with words and sentences and analyzes the characteristics of the contract text.Through analyzing the common technical terms,modal verbs,synonymous synonyms and archaic words used in engineering contracts,it summarizes the main characteristics of words,and proposes translation strategies and techniques.The part of sentence mainly analyzes three types of sentences: long sentences,passive sentences and adverbial clauses.It summarizes the features of the sentence and provides related translation skills from translating and analyzing these sentences.The fifth chapter is the last chapter,summarizing the whole translationpractice,pointing out the shortcomings and suggesting some improvement measures.
