Strategic conception of "the Belt and Road Initiative" has been spurring the overseas investment of Chinese construction enterprises.Construction contracts related to overseas projects are mostly written in English.Sentences emerging in this sort of contract with its strict structure tend to be complex and carefully worded. Therefore, the translation,to this kind of text, should be faithful to the expression originally and accurately. This report, conditions of contract for construction of the coastal highway in Papua New Guinea (Excerpts),is an English contract, which covers the rights and duties of all aspects in the construction process. The text of the contract is formal and of high level, which not only has its fixed format, but also more customary terminology.According to the characteristics of this text and on basis of the Skopos Theory of "equivalence" in translation criteria, the author employed the corresponding translation strategies, and followed the "correct","integrity" and "specific" principles, striving for the accurate translation of long sentences and word equivalence.Eventually, the author made a summary in the translation practice with the aim of reference for these translation fanciers.
