At present,China is in a new period of educational reform and innovation.Multimedia teaching has injected new vitality into educational reform and innovation.In the basic education stage,multimedia technology provides an opportunity for the reform of primary English teaching,which directly promotes the transformation of the English teaching model and makes more and more English teachers choose to use multimedia teaching.At the same time,the basic education curriculum reform demands to improve the science and rationality of primary school English multimedia teaching,improve the teachers 'multimedia application ability,and thus improve the classroom efficiency of primary school English teaching.In this study,12 primary schools in Dengzhou,Henan Province,were selected for the study.Three primary schools were selected from A.,B.and C.Based on the questionnaire,the author collects the data of teachers and students in multimedia application,and presents the current situation of multimedia application of English teaching in primary school in Dengzhou City through the form and pie chart.This paper focuses on the basic concepts and characteristics of multimedia and primary English teaching,and the application status and strategies of multimedia in primary English teaching.It reads as follows:Firstly,The basic concepts,characteristics and basic principles of multimedia technology,the characteristics of primary school English teaching and the characteristics of primary school English multimedia teaching,the necessity of multimedia application in primary school English teaching,lay a solid foundation for further research of the thesis.Secondly,Through the investigation and research,it is found that there are some problems in the application of multimedia in primary school in Dengzhou City.There is a misunderstanding in teachers 'understanding of English multimedia teaching in primary school.Teachers lack a correct understanding of the proper use of multimedia;The multimedia teaching form is single;Multimedia teaching and exam-oriented education can not be effectively connected.At last,Based on the current situation of the application of multimedia to primary school English in Dengzhou,the corresponding effective strategies are extracted: multimedia teaching should be combined with traditional teaching;Put me to the proper principles of multimedia use;Improve teachers 'multimedia application ability;Pay attention to students in multimedia teaching in the main position.
