The paper is a translation report.The translator selects five chapters(“Acquaintance”,“Dragon”,“What's That”,“Finally She Got Married with Prince” and “His Name Is Human Being”)of life prose Children Just Take Your Time Slowly written by Taiwan author Long Yingtai to translate and analyze.As the central part of translation,contrast between English and Chinese mainly focuses on researching the similarities and differences of English and Chinese languages on semantic,grammar,expression habits and logical relationships.Deepening of the research plays an important guiding role in translation.The translator analyzes the translation on the basis of research on contrast between English and Chinese.The paper is divided into six chapters.The first chapter is introduction to the translation task,which mainly describes background of the text,reasons for the selection of the text and nature and features of the text.The second chapter is task process,which introduces preparation,process,revision and proofreading of the translation.The third chapter is literature review,which mainly talks about the research on prose translation and literary works of Long Yingtai at home and abroad.The fourth chapter is comparative analysis of English and Chinese,which concretely clarifies English and Chinese features of abstraction and Concretion,stativeness and dynamicity,overtness and covertness,rigidity and flexibility and objectivity and subjectivity.The fifth chapter is case analysis on the translation,which is divided into three parts of words,sentences and discourses,exemplifying how the translator flexibly translates the source text in the light of the differences of English and Chinese during translation,and the final chapter is conclusion which summarizes this translation practice.
