A Study On E-C Translation Of Economic Texts From The Perspective Of Communicative Translation Theory

In recent years,China has been a major participant in the world market.Increasing cross-border economic activities has led to a growing demand for the translation of economic texts.However,in China,the translation of economic texts is a relatively new research field and the academic research on the translation of economic texts is still at a primary stage.This study is based on the translation practice of excerpts from Understanding the New Global Economy A European Perspective and the excerpts include chapters 5 and 7.This book is an authoritative work on economic globalization and it is an important guide to financial globalization during the COVID-19 pandemic and the new global economic development in the post-epidemic period.Therefore,it has high translation and research value.Different translation methods should be applied to translating different types of texts according to Newmark’s communicative translation theory.Understanding the New Global Economy A European Perspective is a typical informative text,so it is advisable to apply this theory to do the translation research.Case analysis is used as the research method to investigate how to use communicative translation theory to translate economic texts,so as to find ideal methods for translating economic texts.Many translation methods are flexibly used to solve difficulties in translation by the translator,like free translation,amplification,division,combination,etc.This study is carried out from lexical,syntactic and textual levels and analyzes how to effectively convey the message from the original text to the target readers through translation,so as to achieve an ideal communicative effect.
