The translation report on Game Changers: Education and Information Technologies(excerpts)summarizes the translator's reflection on the whole translation process.Game Changers: Education and Information Technologies is a popular scientific book on higher education.This book mainly expounds the current situation,development and employment of higher education in the United States.It analyzes the impact of information technology on students and higher education.It is a scientific English text,in which a few case studies are given.The structure and language of this book are rigorous.There are many specialized terms,complicated sentences and some charts in this book.Under the guidance of functional equivalence theory,the translator uses a variety of translation strategies and skills to solve the problems encountered in the translation process so as to improve the quality of the translation.In the translation report,the translator introduces the guidance theory of this translation practice: functional equivalence theory.The difficulties encountered in this translation,such as translation of long sentences,proper nouns,terminology and graphics.Some translation strategies have been taken,such as free translation,transliteration,conversion,omission,addiction and so on,and specific case analysis has been provided.Through this translation,the translator has gained so much,which not only have improved my translation skill,but also have provided some relevant knowledge about higher education and information technology.
