Report On Simulated Consecutive Interpretation

At 0:00 on July 1,1997,the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government of the People's Republic of China was established.After a century of vicissitudes,Hong Kong finally returned to the embrace of the motherland.The Chinese government began to restore Hong Kong's sovereignty and the desire for "peaceful reunification and one country,two systems" was successfully realized.July 1,2017 marks the 20th anniversary of the return of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region to the motherland.On this day,Xi Jinping attended and delivered an important speech.Hong Kong's return to the motherland has a very important impact on China's reform and opening up,the sustained,rapid and healthy development of the national economy and the realization of the grand goals of this century.The author chose Xi Jinping's speech at the conference to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Hong Kong's return to the motherland as the original language material for this simulation and to complete the Chinese-English translation practice report accordingly.The entire practice report is divided into four major parts,which are the introduction of the practice of simulation and communication,the process of simulation and communication,the analysis of case studies and the translation of simulations.In the third chapter,I made a parallel translation analysis between my own interpreting and the interpreter's version in terms of the translation of the words and sentences and the transformation of the logical essence.Through the examples appearing in the speech,the analysis is performed in the translation process.Problems that should be paid attention to in daily life,such as the translation of decorative words,the translation of Chinese-specific vocabulary,and the translation methods and techniques of different sentences.Then according to the example analysis,we discussed how to use translation methods and techniques to solve practical problems in order to improve the level of translation.Finally,the author summarizes the experience and lessons learned in this translation practice,and the inadequacies that need to be improved in the future,at the same time sums up some of my own translation experience,providing some interpreting skills for future similar or lower level conference interpreting work.
