The report is about translation practice on the children's literature The Unbelievable Top Secret Diary of Pig written by Emer Stamp.A series of stories happened to a pig on the farm.The original work is published by Scholastic,and the contents are full of fun.It is sold in the UK and is well received by readers.The writer hopes that the translation can be recognized by readers.The practice report is guided by Skopos theory and analyzes the translation of this book.In order to achieve the communicative purpose of the translation,under the guidance of skopos rule,the original text and the target text are compared and analyzed,mainly through the translation techniques such as addition and omission.The translation must conform to the intra-linguistic coherence standard,that is,the translation is readable and acceptable,enabling the readers to understand and have a communicative context in the culture of the target language.Under the guidance of coherence rule,some translation method,such as the rhetorical techniques,merging and division,and the adjustment of the word order,are used to the analysis of the cases in the translation practice,improve the consistency of the translation.To make the translation faithful to the original,clearly express the original,under the guidance of fidelity rule,the author's intention is to use the two translation techniques,literal translation and free translation to explore the original text and the translation,and enhance the loyalty between the original text and the translation.According to the translation of the original text,the writer tests the applicability of the theory with her own translation practice,puts forward her own reflections,and summarizes the translation strategies applicable to children's literature.It aims to be better in the translation of children's literature in the future.what's more,such a progress will bring more excellent foreign children's literature to domestic children,or transfer excellent children's literature in our country to foreign countries.The author finds that translation is not an easy task.Each detail in the text should be considered,such as the conversion of punctuation,to express different emotions.At the same time,according to different contexts,different translation skills are necessary to express more accurately.
