The thesis is a translation report excerpted from the food documentary A Bite of China III,Episode I:The connection between food and cooking appliances and Episode II: Flavor: Unforgettable hometown snacks which is directed and publicized by CCTV.The episodes that I chosen are primarily a sketch of traditional Chinese food culture in some places, show Chinese food culture and the embedded values from an unique and human perspective, and retell the peaceful and interesting local stories by a person,a family and a village.Four parts contained in this thesis, separately listed task description including a brief introduction to the background,a brief introduction to the context, characteristics and features of the source context. The second part is Translating Process, which includes task allocation, translation standards and tools. The third part is case analysis.Directed by Susan Bassnet's Cultural Translation theory as the theoretical direction and influenced by the translation principle of domestication methods predominates over the foreignization, the director aimed to spread Chinese dietary culture in an accurate and clear way.On account of the characteristic that many words and expressions are related to the traditional Chinese culture and I classified the culture loaded words into two categories which are culture loaded words related to cuisine and those related to architecture items, and analyze the distinctive contents and features of them. The last part of my thesis is conclusion and it not only just a retell of the translation strategies and methods that I used and took them as examples and strong support to my paper, but there are also some problems and shortcoming of my research which need to be improved, containing how to build up a comprehensive translation system and correctly deal with the Chinese dish names hidden with Chinese characteristics and culture connotations.
