This translation practice report is derived from the translation of the book Correspondences Research.Correspondences Research is a very important work in the process of cognitive psychology by Jean Piaget. In this book,Piaget focuses on the elaboration of internal psychological processes—the relationship between "correspondences" and "transformations",the different levels of formation and development of correspondence, especially the corresponding relationship at the basic stage.Piaget's theory of cognitive development promotes the development of children's psychology and guides the direction of epistemological development, which is of great significance. The book has been introduced by Henan University Press and will be translated into Chinese to meet Chinese readers.Under the entrustment of Henan University Press and the editor-in-chief of the book,Mr.Yan,professor of Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine, the author participates in the translation work of this book. The book is translated by the author and another student of the French Department of Nanjing University. It last for one year from December 2016 to December 2017.The text of this translation is a psychological text, and the psychological text has its own unique stylistic features. In the process of translation, the author have the following three difficulties:How to balance the "unregulated terminology"?How to faithfully realize the "information"communication when translating long sentences? How to coordinate translation style when translating experimental language?Under the guidance of textual typology theory, the author thinks about the specific translation strategies and methods, and finally choose the free translation as the main method of translating. This translation practice report is divided into four chapters. The first chapter introduces the source of the project and the writer. At the same time, the content and type of the translated text are also introduced in detail.C.orrespondences Research is a typical explanatory text. The main function of this type of text is the expression of"information".The second chapter is the description of the translation process.Includes pre-translation preparation, translation process and post-translation issues. The pre-translation preparation stage is divided into content preparation and theoretical preparation. The author studies Piaget and cognitive development theory, and focuses on the emergence and development of the "correspondences" in the cognitive development process. In the theoretical preparation process, taking into account the particularity of the translation, the author has in-depth study of Reiss's textual typology theory.According to Reiss's textual typology theory,Correspondences Research is an informational text. For his translation,we should mainly express"maning" not "orm" in order to express the psychological text more clearly and rigorously.n this basis,he author thinks about the translation method that should be adopted in the psychology text,nd at the same time determines the "free translation"as the main translation method of this translation. The third chapter is the translation case analysis.Under the guidance of Reiss's textual typology theory, the author elaborates how "free translation" can play a better role in the translation of psychological texts from three aspects:"translation of terms","translation of long sentences" and "translation of experimental terms".The fourth chapter is a summary of translation. The author reiterates that the thinking of the translation method needs to be combined with the type of translated text.Correspondences Research is a typical informational text, and free translation is a more appropriate translation method. At the same time, the author reflects in the process of translation, summing up the shortcomings. This translation practice has given the author more thoughts on the choice of translation methods.
