The Application Of Terminology Database In Translation Quality Control

Based on the translation project of Pacific Crucible(chapter seven),this report aims at discussing the application of terminology database in translation quality control.The subject matter of the project is history of military.It will be of twice the result with half the effort to apply a qualified terminology database in a translation work.With the rapid development of big data time,it is normal to face heavy translation tasks.In this case,manual handling of terms cannot fulfill the requirement of market.In recent years,the research in terminology management has developed greatly and there have been many terminology databases development programs worldwide,making it easier for translating;it is of vital importance to grasp terminology technologies to guarantee the quality of our translation work.During my MTI study,I developed a good command of different CAT programs including memoQ,Trados,etc.and learned to apply them in my translation.In this paper,I used memoQ in my translation project and applied the techniques of terminology management.I also made a brief introduction of the characteristics of term management through specific cases and analyzed the significance of terminology database in translation quality.
