Perhaps no other writer in contemporary Chinese literary circles is as closely connected with Shanghai as Wang Anyi. The development, changes and customs of Shanghai have all been shown in Wang Anyi's works.Through the superposition of different works,Wang Anyi has gradually built up her own narrative space-Shanghai.This paper takes the "Shanghai" space construction in Wang Anyi's narration as the research content, taking "Shanghai" as the breakthrough point, using the related theories of spatial narrative and narrative, mainly using the research method of combining description and explanation to make a comprehensive investigation and analysis of the narrative space "Shanghai" in Wang Anyi's creation.Through the analysis of the development and changes of Shanghai in different periods and works,Wang Anyi's construction process can be more clearly and completely displayed. This paper is divided into four chapters. The first chapter is the introduction, which mainly elaborates the significance and value of the topic and the current research situation, and explains the research methods and the structure of the paper in detail. The second chapter first analyses the close relationship between Wang Anyi's creation and Shanghai. At the same time, combined with Shanghai's urban development process, urban culture and customs,Wang Anyi's description of Shanghai is analyzed.Starting from Wang Anyi's important work "Song of Everlasting Hatred" in the 1980 s,this paper analyses and demonstrates the process of Shanghai's narrative space in the context of nostalgia. The third chapter mainly discusses Wang Anyi's works in the 1990 s,and analyses the narrative space of Shanghai from three spatial dimensions: city, countryside and culture.Wang Anyi's construction of Shanghai is not one-dimensional or planar, but three-dimensional.Through the shaping and mapping of Shanghai in different spaces,we can further explore the deeper thinking and greater symbolic significance of the city given by Wang Anyi.Chapter four, starting from Wang Anyi's novel Anonymity in the new century, further explores the significance of Wang Anyi's construction of Shanghai as a narrative space through comparative analysis and cultural criticism.Putting Wang Anyi's creation in a broader environment, not only in literature, but also in social impact, cultural development and other aspects, this paper makes an analysis of Wang Anyi's creation. The concluding part combs the full text and summarizes the full text.
