From 1926 to 1930,the rare disasters that occurred in the Guisui area had a huge impact on the local society. Not only has it seriously undermined the normal rules of the society, but it has also produced a large number of victims.During the period of the Republic of China, warlords and wars and social unrest were on the one hand, which intensified the severity of the disaster, and on the other hand hindered the effective development of disaster relief work. The occurrence of famine will inevitably lead to changes in many social structures, especially the acceleration of the frequency of social mobility, which has further triggered a series of social problems. The social mobility caused by the famine is also an epitome of the changes in the social structure of the Guisui areas during the Republic of China. For the problems of famine and social mobility, few scholars have combined the two to conduct research. In view of this, this paper intends to focus on the historical scenes and the social mobility as a research perspective to focus on how social mobility is carried out during this famine and the various impacts caused by social mobility. This article is divided into four chapters:The first chapter: mainly discusses the dynamic mechanism of famine and social mobility. In this part,we first introduce what is social mobility and the “push-pull theory” which is the main cause of population mobility in social mobility. From the two aspects of tension and thrust as the entry point, the thrust mechanism of the emigration place and the pulling mechanism of the emigration place are discussed respectively.Chapter 2: the social mobility of the famine and the victims is discussed from two parts. The first part mainly discusses the social mobility of the victims from the aspects of vertical flow and horizontal flow in the direction of population flow. The second part analyzes the social impact of the movement of the victims. The third chapter: from the perspective of disaster relief, discusses the social mobility of disaster victims and disaster relief personnel. The social mobility of disaster relief personnel,as another aspect of social mobility in the Guisui area, played an active role in the entire disaster relief process. This chapter also focuses on two aspects: on the one hand, the social mobility of civil disaster relief organizations, and on the other hand, the social mobility of government disaster relief agencies and disaster relief personnel, which constitute the main body of social mobility of disaster relief personnel in the area. The fourth chapter: discusses the abnormal problems of social mobility in the Guisui area from four aspects.First, frequent and severe famines have caused serious imbalances in thrust and pull in population movements.Second,it was affected by military, political, and economic factors, which led to slow progress in disaster relief.Third, due to the unique geographical environment and social customs of Qingshuihe County, the county is less affected than other counties and cities. The fourth is a serious disaster, which has destroyed the normal order of society, and has also spawned a special industry, the human market.A large number of young women and children have been trafficked out during the famine, which has had a huge impact on the local community. Conclusion: first, make a brief summary of the main content of this article.Secondly,it explores the relationship between famine and population movement and its impact on local society. Finally, based on the research of this paper, relevant countermeasures and suggestions are put forward on how to strengthen disaster relief and resilience, and reduce the population movement of the victims.
