Teachers' continuing education is an important link to strengthen the construction of teaching staff,and it is an important guarantee to promote quality education and improve the quality of education.With the deepening of rural basic education reform,the improvement of the quality of rural teachers is particularly important,and the continuing education of primary school teachers is an important means to effectively improve the quality of rural primary school teachers,and it is an important guarantee to promote the quality education of rural teachers in an all-round way.Therefore,it is inevitable to strengthen the continuing education of English teachers in rural primary schools and improve the comprehensive quality of English teachers in rural primary schools.By summarizing the research of scholars at home and abroad,this paper takes the form of questionnaire,which is based on the theory of lifelong learning,the theory of Teachers ' continuing education and the theory of teachers ' career development.In this paper,Likert scale was used to conduct a questionnaire by surveying 132 rural primary school English teachers in Zhanjiang,and the results were analyzed with the software of SPSS 20.This survey contains three parts,the basic situation of teachers,the teaching concept and teaching implementation of teachers,the current situation of teacher training in the continuing education.In terms of the teacher's own teaching idea,teaching skills,teaching level,teachers ' views on the curriculum of continuing education,teachers ' views on the form of continuing education,teachers ' evaluation of continuing education,teachers ' needs of continuing education,questionnaire and investigation,this paper is designed to aim at solving the following problems:1.What is the general status of continuing education for English teachers in Zhanjiang Mazhang District Township primary schools?2.What is the problem in Primary school English teachers' Continuing education in Zhanjiang Mazhang District Township and what is the cause of the problem?3.In view of these existing problems,what kind of countermeasures should be taken?The results of investigation and analysis show that the overall status quo of continuing education for English teachers in Zhanjiang Mazhang District Primary School is unsatisfactory,the main problems are as: a)There are practical difficulties in continuing education for English teachers.The first is that English teachers have an unreasonable ratio of men to women,and female teachers make up the majority.English teachers have to work long hours and teaching tasks are more onerous.There are also a small number of teachers who do not graduate from English majors,which exacerbates the difficulty of continuing education for English majors.b)The current training theory is not suitable for the teaching practice of rural English teachers.Through the investigation,it is found that the vast majority of English teachers have better teaching ideas,but they still encounter many difficulties in the actual teaching process,especially in the integration of teaching materials and multimedia technology to assist teaching.c)At present,the difficulties faced by teacher training in the continuing education of Mazhang District English teachers are the lack of learning materials,crowding out work,rest time and serious contradictions between work and training.The main causes of the problem are the lack of teachers ' understanding of continuing education,the single training method,the weak training teachers and lack of professionalism,the imperfect examination system,the lack of targeted training content,especially the theory of foreign language teaching,primary school English teaching and primary school English teaching skills,the analysis and development of primary school English textbooks,language skills,There is a serious shortage of training in language knowledge.Based on the investigation results,the author put forward the following countermeasures for Zhanjiang Mazhang District Township Primary School English continuing education: a)Optimizing the structure of English teachers in primary schools,improving the level of teachers ' education and scientific research,and promoting the improvement of the overall quality of primary school English teachers.b)Combining Training Teaching content with practical teaching needs,the use of "leniency and strict" approach,organic combination of process evaluation and final evaluation,the establishment of a strict quality assessment and evaluation mechanism.c)Using the network computer to carry out distance continuing education training,innovate the training mode of teachers ' continuing education,relieve the engineering contradiction of teachers ' participation,and improve the training efficiency.d)Introducing the famous teachers,integrating the resources,and carrying out the overall planning to improve the relevance of training content and the effectiveness of training.It is hoped that this study can help to improve the effectiveness of the continuing education of primary school teachers and promote the improvement of the quality of primary school English teachers.The author also finds out the disadvantages in order to provide the future researches with helpful advice.
