A Report On International News Translation Of Tianjin University From The Perspective Of Functional Equivalence Theory

The subject matter of this paper is a practical report,and the translated materials are the news materials which I translated during my internship in the Propaganda Department of Tianjin University.The background of the era is that more and more institutions and individuals are using foreign websites to learn about the trends and cutting-edge information in their areas of concern.However,this effective approach is restricted by the translation level of web translators and the foreign language competence of the target groups of web pages.The quality of translation directly affects the quality of communication,so how to do a good job of website translation? It is very important for colleges and universities to spread the domestic language through foreign language web pages by putting forward effective translation strategies and methods and making translators master the correct translation theories and working methods.This report is divided into four parts.The first part is the task description,which describes the background of the task and the characteristics of the task content,and briefly introduces the significance of this translation practice,the second part is the task process description,including pre-translation preparation.The third part is a case study of translation,which introduces the origin and development of functional equivalence theory,and combines examples from vocabulary aspect.This paper mainly starts with the research of Chinese characteristic vocabulary and also analyzes the guiding role of Nida's functional equivalence theory in his translation practice,as well as the specific translation techniques adopted in order to realize functional equivalence in translation,and probes into the applicability of Nida's functional equivalence theory in guiding translation practice.Part 4th is a summary of translation practice,summing up the experience of this translation practice.
