Fairness" has been a value goal that people have been pursuing since ancient times. The report of the 17 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China putforward "to promote fairness and justice, and strive to enable all people to live in a harmony society." In November,18 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China put forward: "We must advocate freedom, equality, justice, the rule of law,and actively cultivate and practice the core values of socialism." In the process of nation building and development, the Chinese Communist Party has always focused on development.Social fairness and justice. This is because justice can play an important role in social development and individual development. From a social perspective, justice is conducive to resolving social contradictions and promoting social equity and harmony. From an individual perspective, studies have found that people who are unfairly treated will have negative emotions such as disappointment and deprivation, thus jeopardizing individuals.Mental health.College students are the advanced intellectuals of society and the backbone of the country's future development. The university period is an important period for the formation of individual outlook on life and world outlook.College students are active in thought, but their life experience is relatively lacking and easy to be impulsive. In addition,China is in a period of social transformation, and various social contradictions are more frequent, and the external justice environment faces greater challenges. These factors may lead to a lack of correct understanding of justice by college students and trigger various negative emotions. From this point of view, correct and fair cognition is not only conducive to the cultivation of a rational and peaceful social mentality, but also conducive to the healthy development of the individual's body and mind, and to make a fair choice of behavior. Therefore, this study focuses on the cognitive aspects of individual psychological characteristics, and examines the beliefs and belief systems formed by individual justice values, that is,the individual's fair world beliefs.Understand the current situation of college students' fair world beliefs and try to explore the mechanism of the individual's fair world beliefs affecting mental health. In this study,611 college students from Hubei,Hunan,Yunnan, and Fujian provinces were surveyed using the Fair World Belief Scale,Positive Psychological Capital Scale,Life Satisfaction Scale, and Depression Self-Assessment Scale.:(1)The overall level of university students' fair world beliefs is high, and the self-justice world belief is significantly higher than others' fair world beliefs. That is,college students have a higher sense of fairness and believe that they themselves, not others, may be treated fairly by the outside world.(2)There is no significant difference in gender between college students' fair world belief, depression and life satisfaction, but there are significant gender differences in psychological capital. The psychological capital of male students is significantly higher than that of female students;the self-efficacy of intellectual capital students in psychological capital,The two dimensions of resilience are significantly higher than those of literature and history students, but the differences in belief, depression and life satisfaction of college students in different worlds are not significant. There are significant differences in the fair world beliefs and psychological capital of college students, depression and life. There is no significant difference in satisfaction at the grade level;there is no significant difference in the fair world belief, psychological capital, depression and life satisfaction among college students;there is a significant difference in the psychological capital of college students in the family location, and the psychological capital of urban college students Significantly higher than rural college students. There is no significant difference in fair world beliefs, depression, and life satisfaction at the home location.(3)There is a correlation between fair world beliefs, psychological capital, mental health(depression and life satisfaction).Fair world beliefs and psychological capital have significant predictive effects on two indicators of mental health(depression, life satisfaction).(4)The belief in a just world can directly predict mental health indicators(depression, life satisfaction),and can also indirectly predict mental health through psychological capital, that is,psychological capital plays a mediating role between fair world beliefs and mental health. These findings suggest that in the process of developing college students' mental health,in addition to psychological counseling, they can also strengthen the value education of college students. For example,by helping college students to establish a positive and fair world belief, they can enhance individual self-efficacy,resilience and other psychological capital, and then promote individual psychology to develop in a healthy direction.
