As early as the beginning of the 20 th century,“teacher cooperation culture” was born in the United States and began to develop in the West.Since the 1980 s,this culture has gradually emerged and grown in China.At present,it is still necessary for Chinese practitioners and researchers in educational circles to learn from Western experience in order to reach more professional cooperation among teachers.The source text of the translation project is an excerpt from Collaborative Professionalism: When Teaching Together Means Learning for All written by Andy Hargreaves and Michael T.O’Connor,two well-known professors in the field.The book mainly depicts deliberately designed professional collaboration in five different regions of the world and explores how teachers in other countries and regions can initiate and implement these collaborative designs in different contextual and cultural contexts.The sixth and seventh chapters,the source text,are two case studies on schools or systems in Colombia and Canada respectively.Under the guidance of Hans J.Vermeer’s Skopos theory,the translator determines the translation effects to be achieved.One is to accurately and completely convey the original information.Another is to meet the target readers’ way of thinking and reading habits.In order to fulfil the above-mentioned purposes,for compound words,abstract words,impersonal subjects,long sentences and other linguistic features of the source text,translation techniques including addition,conversion,inversion,division and negation are adopted to deal with the corresponding translation difficulties.
