Chinese characters have always been a major problem for learners in the process of Chinese learning.The proximal characters in Chinese characters are an important part of the errors that learners make in the process of writing Chinese characters.However,there are few studies on proximal characters in teaching Chinese as a foreign language,and there is a lack of nationalization research.I have frequent contacts with Malaysian students at undergraduate and postgraduate stages.Based on this,the author takes the errors of characters with similar forms of Malaysian students at the primary stage of Chinese Language and Literature College of Beijing Foreign Studies University as the research object,collates and classifies the errors of characters with similar forms of Malaysian students at the beginning of Chinese learning,and conducts a questionnaire survey on the learning and teaching of characters with similar forms of Malaysian students at the primary stage.On this basis,this paper explores the causes of the errors of characters with similar forms of Malaysian students in the primary stage and puts forward corresponding teaching methods.The specific contents are as follows.First of all,the author makes a detailed and in-depth study on the related research of the characters with similar forms,introduces the scope and research methods of this paper,and after referring to the different opinions of scholars,makes a clear definition of the concept and identification criteria of characters with similar forms.Secondly,the author investigates and counts the situation of characters with similar forms of Malaysian students in the primary stage,which is mainly divided into two parts:the investigation of errors of characters with similar forms of Malaysian students in the primary stage and the investigation of learning and teaching of characters with similar forms of Malaysian students in the primary stage,so as to further analyze the errors of characters with similar forms of Malaysian students in the primary stage.The causes and the corresponding teaching strategies provide the corresponding basis and data support.In this part,after statistics on the general situation of the near-character errors of Malaysian students at the primary stage,referring to Mr.Chen Wuyun's classification method,the author divides the statistical errors of near-character errors into two categories:near-character errors of single-character and near-character errors of combined-character,and according to the number of strokes,the shape of strokes,the combination of strokes and the different positions of the strokes,the proximity errors are further divided into five categories,and the proximity errors are further divided into four categories according to the proximity of components and the number of components.In the investigation of the learning and teaching of characters with similar forms of Malaysian students at the primary stage,the author mainly adopts the method of questionnaire survey,which involves students' attitudes towards characters with similar forms,the degree of understanding and learning methods,teachers' teaching situation and students 'expectations for teachers'teaching,etc.On the basis of the above two investigations,the author makes a thorough analysis of the causes of proximity errors from three aspects:the complexity of Chinese characters themselves,the complexity of learners and the complexity of Chinese character teaching The author mainly discusses the complexity of Chinese characters from the following four aspects:the complexity of Chinese characters' strokes,the complexity of Chinese characters' components,the complexity of Chinese characters' motivation and the complexity of the combination of Chinese characters' phonetics and shapes.The complexity of learners is also the main reason of proximity errors from three aspects cultural background,cognitive mechanism and learning strategies.The complexity of Chinese character teaching is easy to cause proximity errors from three aspects:curriculum design,use of textbooks and classroom teachingNext,the author mainly discusses the teaching methods of characters with similar forms for Malaysian students at the primary stage from the content and form of Chinese character teaching.In this part,according to the classification of proximal errors,the author puts forward corresponding teaching methods at the level of teaching content mainly from two aspects of proximal teaching of single-component character and multiple-component character;and puts forward corresponding teaching methods at the level of teaching form from the perspective of vision and hearing as well as from the aspect of training.It is concluded that teachers of Chinese as a foreign language can use many methods to teach approximate characters,such as stroke contrast analysis,font evolution,component analysis,philological analysis,multimedia display,formula or game methodFinally,the author elaborates on the main research results of this paper in the conclusion part,and puts forward some shortcomings of this paper and the direction of further research in the futureThe innovation of this paper lies in focusing on the errors of characters with similar forms of Malaysian students at the initial stage,which has made a slight contribution to the nationalization of characters with similar forms in Chinese teaching.The value of this study lies in sorting out the errors of the characters with similar forms that Malaysian students are prone to at the primary stage.When teaching Chinese characters to Malaysian students at the primary stage,teachers can focus on these Chinese characters that are prone to near-word errors.On this basis,this paper further analyses the causes of these errors and puts forward some teaching methods.It is hoped that this paper can provide some practical reference value for teachers when teaching Malaysian students.
