Report On The Translation Of 13th Five-Year National Special Plan Compilation Under The Guidance Of Text Typology Theory

Contemporary international political exchanges have long been different from the closed and conservative in the past,which increasingly become open and co-prosperous.In the process of political communication between countries,the written political text plays an important role that cannot be ignored.The political documents embody the international image of China's great power and also represent China's political stance.With the globalization of the world economy and the trend of political globalization,China's comprehensive national strength and international status have significantly improved,and the important role played by the political documents in China's external propaganda has become more prominent.Therefore,it is of great significance to explore the translation techniques and methods of the political style.Based on the translation practice of the 13^th Five-Year National Special Plan Compilation,this report uses the text typology theory of the British translation theorist Peter Newmark to explore the language features and the function realization of the political text in order to improve the quality of political translation and to make the world more aware of China.Depending on the language function,Peter Newmark's text typology theory divides text into three distinct types:expressive text,informative text,and vocative text.This book aims at conveying information on the status quo,policies and achievements of all aspects of China at home and abroad and actively arouses domestic and foreign people to have confidence in the development of China.Hence,it can be seen that the text belongs to both informative and expressive types.The author will discuss the text function realization from three aspects based on text typology theory.This report is a translation practice report according to political translation based on text typology theory.The report briefly overviews the background of translation materials,Newmark's text typology theory,and what the translator did before and after completing the translation practice and the difficulties encountered.In addition,the translator selected several typical sentence patterns from the translation materials to conduct case analysis to explore the function realization of text typology theory in the actual translation,attempting to improve her translation skills and methods in future translation practice.
