With the rapid development of China’s economy and the enhancement of international influence,China’s foreign-related hotel industry has entered a new stage of development.This situation has placed more demands on hotel talents,especially on the hotel’s professional skills and The application ability of the hotel English course puts forward higher requirements.As a secondary vocational school that delivers hotel professionals to enterprises,it also faces greater challenges while having development opportunities.However,there are many problems in the teaching of English courses in secondary vocational schools.It is necessary to reform and innovate to meet the needs of the development of the industry.In order to cultivate more applied and skilled talents that meet the needs of the development of the hotel industry and improve the attractiveness of vocational education,secondary vocational education should strengthen professional construction,and teaching construction is an important part of professional construction and the key to vocational education reform.Link,the reform and construction of curriculum teaching in this link is the breakthrough point of the connotation construction and characteristic development of the professional construction of secondary vocational schools.To this end,this thesis selects the teaching reform of hotel English course in secondary vocational schools as the research object,and studies the relevant ideas on the basis of combing the relevant literature of hotel English curriculum reform in secondary vocational schools.Drawing on relevant theories,especially the CBE theory that reflects the direction of teaching reform,the theoretical basis of this paper is established.Through field research and analysis,the current situation of the teaching of hotel English courses is analyzed,and the existing problems are analyzed..Finally,according to the existing problems,the suggestions for the teaching reform of the English course of the hotel in the secondary vocational school are put forward.The enfire thesis research mainly includes five parts.Part Ⅰ:Introduction.It mainly introduces the background,purpose and significance of the research,research ideas and methods,the research status of the paper at home and abroad,and the innovation of this topic.Part Ⅱ:The theoretical basis.It includes constructivism that reveals the law of teaching,humanism that reflects the choice of the subject of teaching,and CBE theory that reflects the direction of teaching reform.Part Ⅲ:Principles and objectives.Through the literature review,the principles and objectives of China’s secondary vocational education reform are summarizedPart Ⅳ:Investigation and analysis.It mainly analyzes the current situation of English teaching in secondary vocational schools,and conducts questionnaire surveys and interviews on Kunming City Tourism Professionals,teachers and internship units of Kunming City,which has opened a hotel management specialty,and analyzes the survey results.Finally,the five aspects of the English teaching in the secondary vocational school are analyzed.Part Ⅴ:Reform measures.Six measures for the teaching reform of English courses in secondary vocational schools were put forward:formulating incentives,optimizing the content of teaching materials,promoting the growth of dual-teachers,strengthening intercultural communication skills,enriching the assessment methods of courses,and selecting appropriate teaching methods.
