Following globalization, people have paid more and more attention to biological invasion which gradually become a hot issue around the world. As a big agricultural country,China has become one of the countries which have suffered a lot from the invasive species. Therefore,China should actively take measures to reduce or eliminate the negative effects of biological invasion. The translation project was taken from Biological Invasions(Chapters 1 and 2),which was written by Wolfgang Nentwig,Professor of Biology,University of Berne, and published in 2007.The translation practice report selected specific cases to summarize the strategies adopted in the translation process from three aspects:vocabulary, sentence and text.At the lexical level, the author discussed the translation of biological terminology and part of speech conversion, the choice of word meaning, and the application of nominalization structure in this practice. At the sentence level,it involved the understanding of extend meaning by the principle of optimal relevance, the transformation of language units, the adjustment of word order and the language features of English for Academic Purposes. While on the textual level, emphasis was placed on the analysis of the logical relationship between sentences and paragraphs. The author applied the strategies and experience of the translation practice to this report with specific examples, which was expected to benefit for the translation of biological invasion in the future.
