Research On “V-Up” Structure

This paper takes the ?V-Up? structure as the research object,based on the linguistic facts,based on the investigation and analysis of a large number of specific corpora,the semantic type of ?up? in ?V-Up?,the formal characteristics of different semantics,and the influence of ?up? Semantic factors have been studied more comprehensively and in-depth.In addition to the introduction and conclusion,the main part of the thesis consists of three chapters.The first chapter describes and explains the semantic types of ?up? in ?V-Up?.The study found that the semantics of ?up? after verbs mainly have five types: tendency,meaning,realization,persistence and beginning.Among them,trend and result are divided into different subcategories.In addition to meticulously classifying the semantics of the ?up? after the verb,we also use metaphor and image schema theory to explain the connection between the meanings of each subclass.The second chapter follows the principle of combining form and meaning,and summarizes the formal features of the different semantics of ?up? in ?V-Up?,and finds the different types of meanings,especially the distinguishing features of confusing meaning.In the different meanings of the ?up? after the verb,we think that the distinguishing feature of the table tends to ?up? is that it cannot become a word;the distinguishing feature of the table ?meaning? is that it can basically be replaced by the result complement ?good,finished?;the difference between the table implementation and the ?up? is that the ?V-Up? structure in which it is located can be inserted ?de?,the sentence is still established after the insertion and the original meaning remains unchanged;the distinguishing feature of the table last meaning ?up? is the following complement it is a phrase of quantity phrase or table time;the distinguishing feature of the beginning of the table is that it cannot be inserted into any component between the preceding verb.The third chapter makes a more specific study on the influencing factors of the ?up? semantics in ?V-Up?.It is found that the verbs and objects immediately adjacent to ?up? are important factors affecting the semantics of ?up?.The presence or absence of the object,the semantics of the object,and the shape of the object will make ?up? express different meanings.Some special categories of verbs such as catching,adding,and non-moving verbs cause ?up? to produce some new semantics.The article combines specific examples to analyze each of the influencing factors in detail.
