The junior high school freshmen are faced with various adaptation problems,one of which is learning adaptation.Learning adaptation has a vital impact on academic performance and mental health of students.Learning maladjustment can lead to poor academic performance.In serious situations,it can also lead to psychological problems such as adaptability disorder,anxiety,depression and so on.At present,researchers pay more attention to the current situation of the learning adaptation of students,and its influencing factors,and seldom intervene for students with learning adaptation problems.In this study,group counseling was used to intervene the learning adaptation of junior high school freshmen,and the effect of intervention was tested.This study paid more attention to experimental intervention.The subjects were the freshmen of a middle school in Wuhan.From 110 freshmen,22 students with lower learning adaptability were selected,11 of whom were in the experimental group and 11 in the control group.The research tool is "Learning Adaptation Subscale" compiled by Jiang Guangrong et al.(2016)and self-designed group counseling intervention program for learning adaptation(a total of eight times).Before and after group counseling intervention,the experimental group and the control group were tested before and after the intervention,and the difference was tested.The results showed that:(1)about 23%of the freshmen were below the middle level of learning adaptation;(2)there were significant differences in gender variables of learning adaptation.Girls had significantly higher scores in learning adaptation,learning motivation and learning skills than boys,and had better learning adaptability.In addition,there was no significant difference in the class variables of learning adaptation;(3)After intervention,the overall level of learning adaptation of the experimental group members was significantly improved,and the adaptability in the two dimensions of learning motivation and learning skills was also significantly improved,but the intervention effect on the two dimensions of learning efficacy and learning problems was not significant;(4)there was no significant difference between the pre-test and post-test of the control group members.Generally speaking,the group psychological counseling can improve the learning adaptability of students to a certain extent.
