As an emerging visual communication form of science communication,popular science motion graphics has become a major trend of information communication with vivid,vivid and intuitive visual characteristics,as well as a wide range and fast communication characteristics.This thesis uses interdisciplinary visual cognition research method,summarizes the research path of cognitive psychology in visual design by studying the processing process of visual information communication,and combines the actual research to qualitatively analyze the audience's dynamics of science in different contexts.The cognitive characteristics of graphics and the influence of cognitive factors,and the motion graphic design ideas that effectively promote the cognition of scientific knowledge are proposed.First of all,this paper analyzes the cognitive process of visual information,namely,perception,visual perception,memory,knowledge representation,and thinking,and analyzes the intrinsic psychological characteristics of the visual cognition behavior of "initiating viewing-interpreting memory",from the shallow level of cognition.The two aspects of visual perception and deep meaning construction summarize the research path of cognitive psychology in visual design.Secondly,through qualitative research,it analyzes and summarizes the key factors affecting the popular cognitive science graphics from three aspects:the type characteristics of scientific knowledge materials,the design factors of dynamic graphics,and the personal factors of the audience,and based on the knowledge of visual information.The processing principle analyzes and interprets the key factors affecting the popular science graphics and the underlying reasons behind it.Finally,through the research path of cognitive psychology in visual design and the attribution analysis of the influence factors of popular science graphics,constructing the design strategy of improving the cognitive effect of popular science graphics from three aspects:visual form,symbol content and dynamic utility.This paper concludes from the shallow processing and deep processing of cognition that the research path of cognitive psychology in design can play a theoretical reference role for visual cognition information design,from visual form,symbol content and dynamics.The design method constructed by the three aspects provides a theoretical reference for the design practice of knowledge visualization motion graphics,which can help science communicators or motion graphic designers to design visual and cognitive effects according to specific communication purposes and target audiences,motion graphic work.
