During the alternation of the Ming and Qing Dynasties,with the ruling class was decadent and incompetent and the frequent peasant uprising,the Ming Dynasty was unable to exert strong control over Northeast Asia.The Qing Dynasty quickly rose in Northeast Asia and launched two wars against North Korea.They all achieved major victories and successfully established a suzerain-vassal relationship with North Korea.In accordance with the convenant terms by Samjeodo signed by the two sides,North Korea should send visiting mission headed by the Korean prince hostage.However,given a suzerain-vassal relationship with Ming Dynasty more than two hundred years,bias upon Qing ' s orientation,and a hatred to Qing Dynasty,bilateral relations were for time being,very tense and the prince hostage was inevitable involved in.During the 8 years being hostage,the prince returned to the homeland twice,which is attribute to the change of circumstances.The development of relations between the early Qing Dynasty(Post-Jin)and North Korea experienced a relatively complicated process,with Byeongion War as the watershed.After that the suzerain-vassal relationship was established.However,due to North Korea ' s Hyojong,the Qing rulers adopted the strategy of“force prince hostage to Shenyang”to force the Korean surrender to establish a suzerain-vassal relationship.After the prince being hostage for 8 years,the two sides had negotiations with Shenguan as intermediary.During the period,there were two visits.The chapter focuses oin how the two returning visits put forward and permitted and comparison between the reasons for the two visits.The last also analyzes the individual returning of the Korean prince in the historical environment and the political situation and the changes in the relationship between Qing and Korea in the year of Chongde,and also give a breakdown of the prince hostage.
